The department
The Hosting Operations & Support Department (HOSD) is part of the Operations department within LeaseWeb Global Services B.V.. It is responsible for LeaseWeb’s shared managed hosting platforms like mail, webhosting, virtualization and storage. Application Management will be a separate discipline within Operations next to the HOSD.
What is the role about?
As Storage & Virtualization Hosting Engineer you are responsible for our worldwide cloud hosting and underlying storage platforms. This is more than pro-actively monitoring and supporting the systems as you will also aim to find new solutions and then test, build and maintain them. You will be working in a cross functional environment with a DevOps philosophy; intensively collaborate with other disciplines such as software development or networking. You will act as 2nd line incident support and ensure the availability of storage and virtualization services.
Our business is 24/7 which makes that your responsibility is not bound to office hours. You will have regular on-call duty.

You have a wide range of knowledge and experience, but every engineer in the team is a specialist in a few areas.
Do you think you fit? Check your profile;
- Professional and intellectual capacities at bachelor or master level;
- Proven extensive (demonstrable) knowledge of storage systems (SAN/NAS) (e.g. NetApp, IBM, N-Series, Nexenta, HP-3PAR and Compellent);
- Proven extensive (demonstrable) knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM or other vendors. Preferably supplemented with relevant certification (VCP5), or willing to obtain such certification;
- Knowledge of Linux (extensive) and Windows and experience with other disciplines such as networks and scripting;
- Knowledge of monitoring systems like Opsview is desirable;
- Self-driven, eager to learn and show initiative by mastering new technologies independently. Able to find relevant information quickly;
- Professional attitude; in communication (with customers), to improve quality and prevent incidents;
- No nine-to-five mentality
- Good command of written and spoken English;
- Good command of Dutch will be an advantage;
- Drivers license
